Outdoor lighting installation in Accrington for drives, paths, gardens and business frontages. Wall lights, spike lights, sensor floodlights and step lighting, all on weatherproof cable and rated fittings, tested and certified.
Dark paths and steps cause more falls around a house than anything else in winter. Low level lights along the edge work better than one bright floodlight, because they show the ground instead of dazzling you. A timer keeps them on only when needed.
More Information
A PIR sensor turns lights on when someone moves and off again after a set time. A dusk to dawn switch runs them only in darkness. Both cut waste. Sensors need aiming carefully so a cat or a passing car does not set them off all night.
Outside, everything has to keep water out. Armoured cable goes in at depth, joints are made in sealed enclosures and every fitting carries an IP rating suited to its spot. Indoor fittings used outdoors fill with water within a season and fail.
Outdoor work fails when the wrong parts are used, so we stick to armoured cable, proper glands and rated fittings, then test the circuits once they are in. Lighting a drive or a business frontage also helps with security, which is often the real reason people ask for it.

STILL NOT SURE?
They need RCD protection and cable suited to outdoor use, but they can often run from an existing lighting circuit if it has capacity. Larger schemes with several floodlights or a long garden run are better on their own circuit from the board.
Armoured cable is normally laid at least 450mm deep in a garden or under a lawn, and deeper under a drive, with warning tape above it. That keeps it clear of spades and forks. We mark the route so you know where it runs later.
Yes. We install the power and mounting for floodlights and camera units, and position them so the light does not blind the lens. Cameras that need a network connection are much easier if the cabling goes in at the same time.
